Terms

What we undertake,
and what we don’t.

Lodge is custody of delivery. It is not an escrow, not an insurer, and not a guarantee that a film cannot be filmed off a screen.

Plain-English draft — awaiting legal review

These terms describe how the service actually behaves, but they have not been reviewed by a lawyer and are not yet an enforceable agreement. Passages marked Pending legal review are decisions for a lawyer, and are left open rather than guessed. If your legal team needs executed terms before a screening, write to contact@anantex.com.

01

What Lodge is

Lodge opens a private screening room for a defined window of a film, for named guests, for a defined period. When the window closes, the playback identifier is rotated and outstanding grants are revoked.

Access is by arrangement. While Lodge is invite-only, nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance — an account exists when we have agreed one with you in writing.

02

What a host is responsible for

  • —Holding the rights, or the permission of whoever does, to show what you upload to the people you invite.
  • —Who you invite, and what you choose to reveal to them.
  • —Keeping your own account credentials to yourself.
  • —Telling us promptly if you believe a room has been accessed by someone who should not have.

Lodge does not review what a host uploads and does not act as an arbiter of rights. It is the mechanism, not the licence.

03

What a guest agrees to

  • —Watching the screening yourself, on a device you control, and not passing your key to anyone else.
  • —Not recording, capturing, re-transmitting or redistributing any part of what you are shown.
  • —Understanding that your copy of the picture carries a mark identifying it to your seat — which is stated plainly on your own screen while you watch.

A guest is not a Lodge customer and owes nothing to Lodge financially. These obligations exist because the host relied on them when they let you in.

04

Acceptable use

  • —Do not attempt to defeat, probe or reverse the access controls, the watermark or the session boundary.
  • —Do not attempt to reach material outside the window you were given, or another guest’s record.
  • —Do not use Lodge to distribute unlawful material.

We may close a room, suspend an account or revoke a key immediately where we believe any of the above is happening. Where it is safe to do so we will say why.

05

The limits, stated as terms

These are on the custody page as well. They are restated here so that nobody can say they were only in the marketing copy.

  • —Lodge cannot stop a camera pointed at a screen. Nothing can. What Lodge does is make the resulting copy identifiable and the window short.
  • —The current watermark is visible burn-in. It deters and it identifies; it does not survive a determined re-encode. Server-side A/B forensic watermarking is available on the Bonded tier.
  • —Screen-capture resistance varies by device and browser and is not something Lodge controls.
  • —Lodge is custody of delivery, not custody of the asset. It is neither an escrow service nor an insurer, and it does not indemnify a leak.
06

Availability

While Lodge is invite-only there is no service level commitment. We open a small number of rooms at a time precisely so that we can watch each one go right, and we will tell you directly rather than through a status page if something is wrong with yours.

Pending legal review · An SLA, credits, and the consequences of a failed screening are commercial terms that will need to exist before a post house signs.

07

Your material stays yours

A host keeps all rights in what they upload. Lodge takes only the permission it needs to store, encode, cut and deliver that material in order to run the screenings the host asks for, and nothing further. We do not train anything on it, and we do not show it to anyone the host did not name.

08

Ending it

A host may stop using Lodge at any time and ask for their material to be removed. We may end an account for a breach of these terms, or on reasonable notice for any other reason.

Pending legal review · Notice periods, refunds on termination, and how long material is retained after an account closes are contract terms, and interact with the retention question on the privacy page.

09

Changes

When these terms change we will date the new version and tell active hosts by email before it takes effect.

10

Liability and governing law

Pending legal review · Limitation of liability, warranty disclaimers, indemnities, the contracting entity, governing law and forum are all deliberately absent rather than guessed. Inventing a jurisdiction would be worse than leaving the gap visible.

Until these are drafted and executed, any screening run on Lodge is covered by whatever we have agreed with you directly in writing.
